Ever thought you’d like to keep chickens but just don’t have the time or the space, let alone the knowledge?

Fourteen members of The Coop Co-op share the care of a flock of laying hens and a cockerel.  Each member visits the flock once a fortnight when they go to The Crossing, feed and water the flock and collect the eggs. For a small financial outlay and a commitment of 2 hours, every two weeks, we all have a taste of the good life without the daily commitment.

Here, West Hoathly Primary children visit the Coop Co-op as part of their “where does our food come from?” topic.

The Coop Co-op is currrently open to new members as we have just rehoused some biodynamic layers from Plawhatch Farm.
